His research focuses on digital media, migration, cultural industries, and East Asian youth culture. He is the author of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Digital-Mediascapes-of-Transnational-Korean-Youth-Culture\/Yoon\/p\/book\/9781138603004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Digital Mediascapes of Transnational Korean Youth Culture<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/book\/9783030949631\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Diasporic Hallyu: The Korean Wave in Korean Canadian Youth Culture<\/a><\/em>. He has co-authored\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/rowman.com\/ISBN\/9781538146972\/Transnational-Hallyu-The-Globalization-of-Korean-Digital-and-Popular-Culture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Transnational Hallyu: The Globalization of Korean Digital and Popular Culture<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>Prior to coming to UBC Okanagan, he was an ESRC postdoctoral fellow at the University of Sheffield, a research assistant professor at Korea University, and a Korea Foundation visiting professor at McGill University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kyong Yoon is a Seoul-born media researcher.
