The AMP Lab is seeking to hire a <b>Lab Manager GAA (Graduate Academic Assistant) <\/b>position to assist with lab management and facilitation of research over 2021 Winter terms 1 and 2 (September 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022). The lab, home to the SSHRC-funded SpokenWeb UBCO team (Karis Shearer), is an active research community that also houses 3 other digital humanities projects and their respective research teams: General Historia Project (Francisco Pe\u00f1a), the Aga Khan Museum Project (Hussein Keshani), and the Modernist Remediations Project (Emily Murphy). In all, the lab is home to approximately 20 researchers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wages:<\/p>\n<p>September 1 to April 30: 8-month value: approximately $12,500<\/p>\n<p>$31.59\/hr for those enrolled in the Masters Program<\/p>\n<p>$32.79\/hr for those enrolled in the Doctoral Program<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will support and facilitate PI research from FCCS and IKBSAS, and be involved in the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Support of Lab Communications and Public Engagement<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OpenHouse hour\/wk (TBC)<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating or assisting with AMP Lab workshop \/ event series (i.e. Tech Talks)<\/li>\n<li>General Lab Maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Email correspondence<\/li>\n<li>AMP Lab Website maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Social media &amp; communication coordination with FCCS and IKBSAS<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling space<\/li>\n<li>Work orders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supports Lab research affiliates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Account set up for research collaborators and RAs<\/li>\n<li>Orientation for RAs<\/li>\n<li>Limited supervision of new RAs in lab<\/li>\n<li>Equipment sign-out and tracking<\/li>\n<li>Hardware updates and maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling on equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling closed-lab team-meetings<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling of RA work-stations.<\/li>\n<li>Work orders for IT Services<\/li>\n<li>Work orders for Facilities<\/li>\n<li>Project-specific monthly research milestones communications via AMP Lab social.<\/li>\n<li>Publicizing of project-specific events<\/li>\n<li>Meeting scheduling<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with running workshops when availability allows<\/li>\n<li>Payroll assistance for RAs<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with UBCO Library and UBCO Studios where support from these areas are required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Time commitment: 12 hours\/wk<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Must be enrolled full-time at UBC Okanagan\u2019s campus, be in good academic standing, and should have knowledge and experience relevant to project management, digital humanities, hardware and software, website maintenance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AMP Lab Manager Want to work in a fun, collaborative Digital Humanities space?
