He graduated in Hispanic Philology in 2000 and received a PhD from the University of La Rioja in 2009 with the thesis El Becerro Galicano de San Mill\u00e1n de la Cogolla. Edici\u00f3n y aportaciones filol\u00f3gicas, under the direction of D. Claudio Garc\u00eda Turza, with a distinction &#8220;cum laude&#8221;. His research focusses on the History of the Spanish language through early medieval documentation; history of the Spanish lexicon; and orality in teaching Spanish as Second and Foreign Language.<\/p>\n<p>He has participated in several national and international research projects, including those of Las Glosas and the Emilianense glossaries (2002-2008), Medieval Hispanic Bibles: Nicol\u00e1s de Lyra and the Alba Bible or, more recently (2010-2013 ), The Confluence of Religious Cultures in Medieval Historiography: A Digital Humanities Project (2019-2024), about Alfonso X\u2019s General e grand estoria. He has been a visiting professor at The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland), and since 2010 he is the secretary of the Aemilianense journal (Revista internacional sobre la g\u00e9nesis y los or\u00edgenes hist\u00f3ricos de las lenguas romances), edited by the International Research Center of the Spanish Language (Cilengua).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Francisco Gago-Jover<\/strong> is Professor of Spanish at the College of the Holy Cross. Originally from Spain, where he received his &#8220;licenciatura&#8221; in Geography and History in 1985, he received his Ph.D. in Hispano Romance Linguistics and Philology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 with a dissertation on Medieval Spanish military lexicography. He is the author of two dictionaries, an edition of the Spanish version of the Art of Dying Well, numerous articles on lexicography, and several paleographical transcriptions of medieval Spanish texts. He has taught doctorate courses in different universities in the United States (University of Massachusetts-Amherst and Boston University) and Spain (Universidad de Le\u00f3n, Universidad de Valladolid, and Universitat de les Illes Balears).
