Multimodality and Sensory Ethnography

Today we had the fortune of having Dr. Fiona McDonald in the AMP Lab, who courageously presented her talk Multimodality and Sensory Ethnography despite having bronchitis. She spoke about several art exhibitions she helped host that combined digital tools with sensory experiences and cultural knowledge. Her talk focused on “thinking with our senses, not about them,” and how the multidimensional nature of senses can be used for teaching and storytelling. Her work can be found at www.sensorystorytelling.org. She also shared a link to another sensory ethnography project by Robert Lemelson, Yee Lee, and Briana Young which can be found here: http://tajeninteractive.com.
